Live off campus? Not sure where to recycle your glass?

There's often been a lot of confusion in my house with regards to recycling, in particular glass!

How do you recycle it? Where can I recycle it?

If you've been putting your glass in the recycling bin off campus, stop now! Winchester City Council do not take glass in their recycling bin collections. Shocking I know, but recycling varies across the country, depending on what contractor the council chooses to go with.

All is not lost however, there are local bottle banks dotted around Winchester, so you can recycle your glass.

If you live in Stanmore, there is a glass recycling area situated next to the 'Sportsman's Club' on Cromwell Road and one at Badger Farm Sainsburys. If you live in Winnall the nearest collection point is Tesco.

I am currently in negotiations with the local council to install more collection points across the area of Stanmore.

- One point will be situated at the One Stop on Battery Hill

- Another collection point will be situated at Stanmore Community Library (Carroll Centre) car park - in between Stanmore Recreation Ground and Somers Close.
