"A vote for Kayleigh Richter is a vote for enthusiasm, passion, and drive for a greener more sustainable campus!

I believe that I am an ideal candidate for this vacancy, because I am passionate about the cause! I started taking an interest in the universities environmental responsibilities when I first volunteered for the NUS SwitchOff campaign last year. 

I took an immediate interest, but I wanted to achieve more to further enhance the universities green status! As well as encouraging students to save energy, I started looking at the energy consumption that was being used in halls and the buildings and wanted to take further steps to reduce costs and further energy consumption. I believe we can do more to reduce our carbon footprint. The campus black out was a good start, now let's see if we can do more! I believe that this would enhance our ethical status, as well as our environmental status, if we reduced the amount of carbon we used. 

Our ethical background at this university is absolutely fantastic! It's something we should be extremely proud of. Our Fairtrade status, our locally sourced food, our awards, and much more... 

To increase our sustainability, I would love to start some university based projects that would enhance our ethical and environmental status. Allotments to grow fresh vegetables, which would be a great opportunity for students who want to volunteer more, compost areas to recycle food waste, and to reuse around campus. Maybe even a herb garden! :)  

The ideas above are just some of many, that I would love to start! 

If you were to elect me as the Ethical & Environmental Officer, I would ensure that not only the university continues to keep its sterling reputation as a sustainable and ethical institution, I will also ensure that it continues to go above and beyond in it's Ethical & Environmental status. I want to achieve as much as I can to make us stand out from the rest!

As you can see from above, I am an incredibly enthusiastic individual! Once I set my sights on something I am passionate about, I go for it! I love resposibility, I am a great listener and I look forward your ideas, and views on what you think needs to be done."
